**NOTE** The only difference in these Ball Joints from the 2003-2009 set is that the lower ball joints contain a Pin that is approximately 1/8" longer to avoid Lower ball joints sitting too deep in the knuckle and rubbing on the boots.

Alot of the knuckles manufactured for the 2010-2013 Ram Trucks had slightly deeper tapered holes so the pins would sit too deep and the lower ball joint would rub. To fix this , we made a slightly longer lower pin so they will sit higher in the knuckle. EMF is the only manufacturer to do this. These lower ball joints can also be used in the 03-09 to fix this problem as well.

EMF OVERSIZED BALL JOINTS ARE ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME AS OUR REGULAR SIZE BALL JOINTS IN ALL ASPECTS - EXCEPT THEY HAVE A 5-6 THOU LARGER HOUSING THAN OUR REGULAR SIZE TO ACCOMMODATE THOSE HOLES THAT HAVE BEEN STRETCHED OUT BY FREQUENT CHANGES OR USING A KNURLED BODY BALL JOINT THAT NEED A TIGHTER FIT.

WHY DO WE HAVE A SPLIT YEAR FOR 2003-2009 AND 2010-2013 WHEN ALL OTHER MANUFACTURERS ARE THE SAME FROM 2003-2013?

Here at EMF we like to make things harder for us by adding more sku's and parts to machine, to make it easier for you! 

We noticed that the lower ball joint on a 2010-2013 Ram 2500/3500 would sit in the tapered knuckle hole deeper on most of the trucks, which would result in the ball joint rubbing on the boots.  So we made a lower BJ pin that is 1/8" longer to allow the Ball Joint to sit a bit higher in the knuckle and avoid any boot rubbing.  This is just how awesome EMF is.

Can these be used in a 2003-2009 Ram that has this problem of boot rubbing?  Absolutely!  The taper is exactly the same, it is just the height above the taper that is longer.
